Sonoran Skylines Desert Mural
Arizona’s largest outdoor mural, Sonoran Skylines, is located at Tucson’s Park Place Mall. The 26,400-sf mural depicts elements native to the Southwestern desert, such as a howling coyote with a backdrop of twisty saguaro cacti and the starry Sonoran Desert sky. The complex project, which involved rolling lightly textured masonry, used 13 vibrant Dunn-Edwards colors and took nearly three months to complete. Local muralist, Jessica Gonzales, enlisted the help of her husband, Dakin Martin and a few other local painters in the project’s final stages to bring Sonoran Skylines to life.
Intuit Office Building Renovation
The 178,600-square-foot Intuit Bayshore building is a focal point in the technology giant’s makeover of a 1980s suburban office park. Part of a larger walkable and sustainable campus, the four-story renovation is now home to 1,000 Intuit employees. Bayshore embraces bold and playful design elements with plenty of natural light and a diverse color palette. Contractor California Drywall was tasked with painting all interior tenant improvements, including an eye-catching lobby, staircases and terraces, offices, workspaces, libraries and conference rooms, as well as the site’s parking garage.
Bayshores Water Front Home
Bayshores is one of the premier waterfront communities in Newport Beach, featuring two private beaches with stunning water views. The homes are eye-catching, too. This new 3,000+ square-foot Newport Beach residence blended a modern interior with classic decor touches. That was partially accomplished by painting shiplap MDF panels on walls and ceilings in Dunn-Edwards Warm White (DEW380) throughout the majority of the home. Oak cabinets, baseboards and trim were painted in the same color; the lone exception was a bathroom vanity, which was painted Caribbean Cruise (DE5760).
Warehouse Complex Repaint
This exterior repaint included three warehouse-style concrete tilt-up buildings totaling more than 840,000 square feet and requiring more than 2,100 gallons of paint. An open-spec project, the contractor could use any paint supplier, but Metzger’s Painting Professionals selected Dunn-Edwards, specifically for the quality level and price point of its PRO-COM® 6500 Exterior Paint. The contractor ran two 3–4-man crews for five months for on-time, on-budget delivery
