Early on, painting was just a chance to make some extra money in high school for Joe Frisco. But like many other painters, it quickly turned into a fulltime profession he enjoyed. The Central California pro started Frisco Paint Company in 2005, and today he takes tremendous pride in the variety of jobs his crews take on.

“A lot of guys like to focus on one thing … custom residential repaints and things like that. But we can pretty much handle everything—commercial, repaints, production—anyone who calls, we can take care of it,” he said. There are guys behind you and in front of you and you don’t want to mess up the schedule,” Frisco explained. “Dunn-Edwards always has the product and is always on time with its weekly deliveries.” Frisco Paint Company recently relied on Dunn-Edwards for a nearly year-long project at Walnut Park, a single-family home community in Hollister, CA built by Stone Bridge Homes. The contractor painted 40 homes in the new neighborhood with floor plans up to five bedrooms and just under 2,000 square feet.

The homes were completed in clusters of three or four at a time and paint quantities for each home ranged from as few as 75 gallons to as many as 150, depending on the model. Dunn-Edwards’ ACRI-BUILD was used on exteriors, SUPER-WALL on interior walls, and VERSAGLO was used in kitchens and bathrooms. “Their production-grade paint, and even the ones for high-end custom homes, are all really user friendly. We know it’s going to hold up, cover well, and touch up well,” Frisco added.
The Walnut Park home project was completed on schedule without delays. It’s just one example of Frisco’s strong working relationship with Dunn-Edwards. In any given month, the contractor may rely on the manufacturer for upwards of 1,200 gallons of paint in a variety of locations. “We’re pretty spread out geographically and we’ll need paint at multiple jobs at once,” he added. “They do a really good job of taking care of our needs. Any issues that come up, they’re on top of it, whether it’s the reps or the guys in the store. Everyone’s really attentive and easy to deal with.”
