Restaurant & Workplace in Focus: Lodgic Everyday Community

Lodgic Everyday Community opened its doors last year, and is a one-of-a-kind venture located in Champaign, Illinois. The organization introduces a new option for working families that juggle it all, seamlessly blending three services; shared workspace, healthy affordable meals, and child care.
The space is divided into a variety of areas: Lodgic’s Everday Kitchen Restaurant, Clever Moose cafe, Lodgic Everday Workspace (which is comprised of co-working space, event spaces, and conference rooms), kids camp, a full gym, childcare areas, and so much more. The design, by BHDM architects, was imagined as “America the Beautiful Meets Camping,” – an homage to the heart of the heartland and all that makes communities strong.
Each area feels distinct with a bold color palette (charcoal, marigold, and blue); commissioned local art, including a 40-foot-long wall graphic in a play area; graphic patterns, seen in paintings that were turned into textiles and draperies in the Everyday Kitchen restaurant; and playful touches, including tent-like structures delineating booths and the workplace entrance.
The dining venues, which occupy a combined 5,500 square feet within the 28,000-square-foot center include the family-friendly, fast-casual Clever Moose Market Café and The Everyday Kitchen Restaurant and Bar, a full-service dining venue. In addition to serving as amenities for Lodgic Everyday Community members, the restaurants were developed to appeal to the general populations as convenient destinations for local business, residents, and visitors to the larger Champaign community.
Lodgic Workplace offers open co-working and private offices to individuals and teams looking for flexible office solutions in a creative environment. Boasting bright colors, geometric elements and a variety of different spaces to collaborate. It’s a space that’s meant to empower flexible, working families, single parents and small businesses.
