Inside the 61st Pasadena Showcase House of Design

The 61st Pasadena Showcase House of Design, held at the historic Baldwin Oaks Estate and sponsored by Dunn-Edwards, showcased a thoughtfully curated color palette that blends timeless elegance with modern trends.

Built in 1907, Baldwin Oaks Estate sits gracefully beneath a canopy of towering trees in Arcadia. This shingle-style home once belonged to Clara Baldwin Stocker, the glamorous daughter of pioneer Elias "Lucky" Baldwin.

Steeped in history, the estate is a stunning example of the American Arts and Crafts movement. Visitors are welcomed by a tree-lined circular driveway leading to a broad wraparound porch. The exterior body, painted in Turbulent Sea (DE5803), boasts cedar shingles and a striking roofline with intersecting gables, while inside, a grand oak staircase anchors the foyer. The first floor features an expansive living room, a richly detailed entertainment room, and beautifully preserved service areas, all reflecting the opulent lifestyle of Clara, famously known as "The Diamond Princess."

Inside, the kitchen and dining nook were transformed by Billman Designs using  Midnight Garden (DE5657), Dunn-Edwards 2026 Color of the Year.

French Press Coffee (DEBN07) made its mark in two distinct spaces. The Art of Room Design used this moody, glamorous shade in The Bloom Lounge, while Jill Romine Interiors brought it into The Fireplace Ensuite, adding depth and sophistication to both areas.

In the Lady’s Lounge, Carla Lane Interiors envisioned a global, eclectic retreat. The soft, versatile Rosy Taupe (DEBN15) was chosen to balance vibrant patterns with a sense of calm refinement.
