CALIFORNIA CHRISTMAS

Although California doesn’t have the snow and cold that ushers in the Christmas spirit for most of the United States, Los Angeles natives have adapted a different spin on decorating and celebrating the holidays. Many stores this year are embracing the unique “California Christmas”, by incorporating desert fauna, beach themes, and Los Angeles landmarks covered with snow. Energetic in design, this trend is an exciting, fresh take on the holidays.

MINIMALIST

With minimal color palettes and simplistic themes, these windows demonstrate pared-down design elements with repetition and iteration, and holiday basics stripped to the essential. With the “snowflake” as an overall theme, displays boast metallic finishes and delightful LED lighting techniques.

TRADITIONAL

With holiday tradition as the primary inspiration, use of classic Christmas elements such as presents, light strung trees and ornaments adorn many of this year’s window displays. Comprised of greenery and soft textures of cotton and yarn, this trend recalls the idea of a Christmas snuggled up at home in front of a crackling fire with a cozy and relaxed atmosphere.
