Oaklawn Manor: The 2022 Pasadena Showcase House of Design

This year marks the 57th annual Pasadena Showcase House of Design. The Showcase House is a celebration of the best in design of Pasadena’s architectural history, and this year it returns to South Pasadena for the first time in 40 years.

The home's interior and exterior spaces feature the exemplary work of 23 different design firms. The Pasadena Showcase House of Design, one of the oldest and most successful home and garden tours in the nation, is open April 24 – May 22, 2022. Tickets are available for purchase here.

About the Manor

Set among a historic Greene & Greene planned neighborhood within the city of South Pasadena, this 1905 English Tudor mansion is a sprawling estate set among artistically landscaped gardens with scenic
paths leading to the edges of the property.

Built for Mr. Harry Hawgood, an English civil engineer whose career designing railways and waterways spanned multiple continents, the home was constructed of concrete in lieu of popular wood framing of the time, which led many to believe Mr. Hawgood himself was the architect.

The home features rich wood interiors and period details, including stained glass windows, ornate beamed ceilings and floor-to-ceiling travertine fireplaces.
