The 2013 Rose Parade: Post Parade Viewing

Artistic Inspiration

Each year for the past 124 years, Pasadena comes to life with the Rose Parade. And with this parade, a majestic display of color and design showcases the best of creativity and imagination.

As a kick-off to another colorful year, the 2013 Post Parade Showcase of Floats presented the theme "Oh, the Places you'll Go!" with over 30 floats dedicated to at showing the best in floral design. Here is a tour of this year's post-parade viewing, an up close look at all the beautiful blooms, plumage, and floral creations.

This unique event began at the Valley Hunt Club in Pasadena, CA back in 1890 when club members were brainstorming ways to promote "The Mediterranean of the West." The members would invite their East Coast friends and family out for the winter to enjoy games and festivities. From there it has grown over the years into the events we see today and that is how the Tournament of Roses began.
