A contemporary hotel in the midst of a world of neoclassical design – Semiramis offers a colorfully cartoon-like vibe. Designer Karim Rashid included fun and playful elements, such as lip sofas and blob chairs, as well as lollipop colors.

Location: Brussels, Belgium
Designers: Michel Penneman and Olivier Hannaert

Brought to you by the leading industry experts in color matching standards, Pantone showcases an experience of vivid color with Pantone Hotel in Brussels, Belgium. Starting with a white backdrop, the saturated accent colors come alive.

The Saguaro by Joie de Vivre Hospitality, Inc.
Locations: Palm Springs, CA, and Scottsdale, AZ
Designer: Stamberg Aferiat & Associates

Turning to the desert wildflower coloring of the Sonoran Desert and Coachella Valley for inspiration, Stamberg Aferiat +Associates brought existing basic properties to life with vibrant and vivid color palettes. The Saguaro Palm Springs provides mid-century modern touches in keeping with the local architectural history, while The Saguaro Scottsdale showcases an oasis in the middle of the Sonoran Desert.

25 Hours Hotel Zürich West by Design Hotels
Location: Zürich, Switzerland
Designer: Alfredo Häberli

Located in the western part of Zürich, 25 Hours Hotel Zürich West displays a lively mixture of color, local flair and tongue-in-cheek humor. The lobby has a 1970s vibe with Eames-style chairs, Rubik's cube colors and neon lights, while the rooms are named in categories – platinum, silver, gold – in reference to the city's status as a financial hub.

The Standard by Design Hotels
Location: downtown Los Angeles, CA
Designers: Shawn Hausman, film production designer; Hank Koenig, Koenig-Eizenberg Architects

A mid-century landmark located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, The Standard boasts dazzling views of the L.A. skyline, while its interiors showcase colorful pop-culture references throughout. Opened in 2002 by hotelier André Balazs, The Standard continues to be one of L.A.'s hippest hotels.

The Inn at John O'Groats
Location: North HIghlands, Scotland

Situated in a hamlet along a northern point of the British mainland, The Inn at John O'Groats is surrounded by extreme landscape and stunning views, including the coastline, cliffs and forest. Originally built in 1875 as the John O'Groats Hotel, the inn has been restored in Nordic-style architectural detail with dramatically colorful exteriors.

Hotel Silken Puerta América
Location: Madrid, Spain

Design contributors include: Zaha Hadid – first-floor rooms; Marc Newson – sixth-floor corridor; Richard Gluckman – ninth-floor “box of colors"; David Chipperfield, Norman Foster, and Ron Arad

Built more like a museum paying homage to modern design, the Hotel Silken Puerta America is a project that brought together 19 of the best architects and designers in the world. Each of the floors delivers a different design concept and all play with material, color and form to create cutting-edge spaces.

G & V Royal Mile Hotel by Quorvus Collection
Location: Edinburgh, Scotland
Designer: Missoni fashion house

Located within a muted building in Edinburgh lies a colorful secret called G & V Royal Mile Hotel. Formerly called Hotel Missoni and created by the legendary Italian fashion house Missoni, G & V Royal Mile Hotel displays a mish-mash of color and pattern, including Missoni prints -- from stripes to squares -- and of course, the legendary zig-zag pattern.
