Pan Am: Mid-Century in Flight

At the recent Palm Spring Modernism Week, an exhibition on the history of Pan Am Airlines was a must-see exhibit. This curated collection of historical memorabilia traces the history of the airline, showcased in all its hip mid-century modern design.

From the fashions of the flight attendants and crew to the cabin designs to the toys for young and old, it was a treat to see. Memorabilia ranged from purses, clutches, scarves, toys, ashtrays, crew pins, books, posters, and even first-class dinnerware and dining menus. Truly the height of design in the air.
