February Color of the Month: Rose Fusion

Design Trends

Why It’s February's Color of the Month
We know that February’s Valentine’s Day is focused on all things red and pink. At Dunn-Edwards we like to take a little latitude within that color spectrum and highlight a member of our Perfect Palette® that’s perhaps more unexpected than traditional deep reds and soft, milky pinks of the season. Something a little punchier like Rose Fusion (DE5111), a powerful salmon pink that takes inspiration from the Cartagena Red Orange Rose.

Years past have included February Colors of the Month shades such as the aptly named Amour (DE5104) and cherry-infused classic red, Heartthrob (DET412).

Why Vibrant Corals Are Perfect for 2020
We recently unveiled our 2020 trends color + design report, Optimistic Endeavors: Tales of Tomorrow. One trend we noticed was the seeking of playtime; acting on a desire and passionately pursuing what makes us happy. And no hues are better than bright, poppy colors that encourage us to live in the present and enjoy every moment, making Rose Fusion a perfect fit for this month devoted to love and beyond. It’s no wonder a similarly vibrant coral hue to that of February's color of the month, Amour, can be found in Playtime, one of our 2020 Color + Design Trend stories.

Designing With Salmon Pinks

  • We’ve seen how a shade of coral can create a vibrant yet healing space for women. You might opt to create a similar vibe with a color palette of Rose Fusion, a dusty rose like Rosy Cloud (DE5182), and Whisper (DEW340).
  • Want to tame Rose Fusion’s fiery passion? Cool it off by pairing it Muslin (DE6227) and Dark and Stormy (DET572).
  • Add warmth and richness to a space with Rose Fusion with touches of darker wood tones when it comes to things like furniture, bookshelves and other decor accents.
  • Want to go bold and unexpected in a children’s playroom? Pair Rose Fusion with jewel tones like Sangria (DE5041) and Encore Teal (DEA182) for a regal and active playspace.
