A CHILL is in the Air!

The Queen Mary, a maritime icon, debuted a new holiday attraction called CHILL, which showcases holiday entertainment along with the exhibit The Ice Kingdom at CHILL, where over 2 million pounds of ice created a one-of-a-kind winter ice sculpture gallery. The Ice Kingdom at CHILL is a spectacular display of giant ice carvings created by Chinese artisans and are reminiscent of those seen in Harbin, China where their annual winter festival draws global attendance. Steve Sheldon, Director of Entertainment Events states, “We have converted the Queen Mary Dome into the world’s largest ‘igloo’ – where the temperature is Arctic-cold and demands that each visitor be provided with a parka to ensure their comfort.”

What I noticed when touring the gallery is the numerous colors on display within the ice. Whether blue, pink, red or green, this holiday exhibit displays the ultimate in color and design creativity. Open through January 6, 2013, this installation is a must-see on the designer holiday list.
