High Performance Line of Interior/Exterior Paints and Primers

LOS ANGELES (October 9, 2012) Dunn-Edwards has introduced Ultrashield®, a new line of interior/exterior, high performance coatings. These three new paints and two new primers are zero VOC, very low odor and free of hazardous air pollutants (HAP)...making them ideal for use in interior occupied areas.

“This new line of paints is the latest in our offerings of high performance coatings, and allows us to continue to meet the demands of painting professionals and homeowners alike,” said Dave Heiligenthal, product manager. “Ultrashield® is ideal for a variety of light to moderate industrial environments, as well as commercial and residential applications where maximum protection is required.”

New products in the line include a paint and primer for metal. Ultrashield® DTM Semi-Gloss is a direct-to-metal coating that provides excellent corrosion resistance on steel, galvanized steel and aluminum substrates. For maximum protection against corrosion, use new Ultrashield® DTM Gray Primer. Both of these products are intended for metal substrates only. They are both very low odor, HAPS free, and safe for use in occupied areas such as hospitals, hospitality and entertainment projects.

Also added to the line are Ultrashield® Interior/Exterior Low Sheen and Gloss, ideal coatings for a wide range of surfaces, including drywall, wood, masonry, metal, as well as equipment and tanks. Both the Low Sheen and Gloss are mar resistant and provide exceptional resistance to UV exposure. For those hard-to-stick to surfaces, Ultrashield® Multi-Surface Primer exhibits outstanding adhesion to masonry, metal, galvanized metal, wood, plaster, wallboard, and previously coated surfaces.

Like all Dunn-Edwards products that bear the EG-free logo, Ultrashield® products are ethylene glycol (EG)-free. The new Ultrashield® line of paints is now available in all Dunn-Edwards stores. For more information about our products, visit, or contact your local sales representative.
